Fabiano was nervous. He couldn’t remember a single time he had felt this nervous about something. Sure, there had been some nerves when he played the semifinal in the quidditch World Cup – the most important moment of his career, and when he took the leap and started Fab Abs. But this, this was a different kind of nervous.
He was about to tell his girlfriend that he had a son with his ex.
It had been three days since he found out about Perry's existence. He hadn't seen Shiloh and barely spoken to her in those three days, taking the time to try to wrap his mind around the fact that he was apparently a father, and going to see his mother in Florence to tell her the news. She had been shocked and angry on his behalf, and had expectedly offered her assistance, caring as she was. His sweet mother had given him some sound advice, so when the portkey transported him back to London he was a bit calmer than when he left.
Calmer, but no less nervous. After all, he would be telling Shiloh next.
Fab knew this wasn’t something he could hide from his girlfriend, nor did he want to. He didn’t want to do to her what MIDORI CHAUCER had done to him and keep Perry a secret. A baby could be a game changer, and Shiloh deserved to know that the circumstances had changed.
He loved Shiloh and had been planning to ask her to move in together before Midori sprung the baby on him, but that wasn’t looking so realistic anymore. In fact, he was painfully aware that this could mean the end of their relationship.
There was no wrongdoing on his part – the night he shared with Midori was before he and Shiloh started seeing each other, but that didn’t change the fact that this changed things majorly for Shiloh. She had already broken up with him once for moving back to Italy a couple of months ago and had barely wanted to take him back when he moved back to London. He wouldn’t blame her if this turned out to be too much for her.
So when Fab walked up to Shiloh’s front door, it was with the knowledge that he might leave here tonight with a broken heart.
He took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.
