How did your character acquire this ability?:
If you asked Austin (not his original name, by the way) how he turned, depending on the day, he honestly might not even remember. Historians can barely agree on anything and, yet, you think this jackass is going to vividly remember one shitty week over 2500 years ago? I can barely remember what I had for breakfast. Anyway, it definitely had something to with some petty squabbling between city-states, as the Ancient Greeks were known to do. He'd like to tell you he died valiantly in battle, defending his people from some onslaught of invaders where he made a triumphant last stand. The truth of the matter, though, is that he got separated from his hunting party on the way back from battle. Apparently, the forests of Greece had monster lore for a reason. His mother did always warn him about venturing into the woods. Whoever turned him was a real jackass, too, because, instead of killing him mercifully and with a little shred of honor, he was left bleeding out on the muddy forest floor. It's whatever, man. He lived, sorta. C'est la vie. He only remembers bits and pieces following the accident, but he knows he wandered the forests in a fog and ate any animal he could catch raw. Austin did not know what attacked him, but his culture was full of lore about beasts that lived in the darker parts of the lands. Blaming all your problems on the gods really helped when you couldn't find answers. He spent the next few centuries wandering the lands, using battlegrounds as buffets, and crossing paths with the occasional fellow monster. Since then he's changed his name countless times, never staying in one place too long, and generally making a mess of things throughout history.
JJ gave a tentative yes to me being absolutely ridiculous with this fella and I'm here to push her confidence in me to the ragged edge.
