Wash's eyes found the clock on the kitchen wall, and he finished up his sandwich. Michelle was due to arrive in less than an hour, and he still needed to make his flat presentable. He had an unscheduled practice that morning, so he wasn't able to clean before now. He picked up his plate and dropped it into the sink before he headed out to the living room to survey the damage.

It wasn't too bad, thankfully, but he was going to be cutting it close if he didn't start right now. He had already showered, having done so after he returned from practice, so he began picking up his living room. He arranged the few magazines that were on the coffee table and then picked up the books that littered the sofa and table so he could return them to the bookshelf.

It was amazing how quickly thirty minutes could pass when you weren't paying attention to it. It was the knock at the door that alerted him to the time, which a glance told him was the time Michelle was supposed to arrive. He knew it was her at the door, so he headed over to answer it, not wanting to keep her waiting. He opened the door, the book still in his hand, and smiled at the redhead standing on the other side. "Afternoon," he said with a smile.

He stood to the side and gestured for her to walk into his flat so that she didn't have to stand on his doorstep the entire time. "I see you found the place all right," he said. "Can I get you something to drink?" he asked politely. He wasn't about to be a rude host after all.
