Thanks to a collaborative effort between the British Ministry and many unsung heroes, the recent reign of terror that labored its shores was defeated. The hate of Perniciem has fallen, with many of its members apprehended and prosecuted. Their definitive defeat caused the members of Ìonacht to disband and wither back into their shadows, unable to stand against such a grand show of force and harmony.
Thus, it marks the beginning of a Silver Age for the Magical Community. The desire to unite the magical and Muggle worlds is renewed. And, in the spirit of this very sentiment, the International Confederation of Wizards has agreed to form the Concordia Festival.
This triannual festival is a compilation of the magical world's most exotic events and attractions open to the muggle public, including, but not limited to, Wizarding and Quidditch tournaments, magical creatures and mystical cuisines. The Concordia Festival's Inaugural host site will naturally be the United Kingdom, in London.
In the past year many events have occurred. Two Ministers for Magic have been killed, and one has resigned, leaving Hermione Granger as the Minister in an increasingly unstable world. A rogue student, leading a sinister group of followers wreaked havoc on Hogwarts two years ago, kidnapping and killing many. Known as The Purifiers, this group is determined to prove their blood superiority by any means necessary. The Order of the Phoenix has fractured under pressure. After a relatively quiet school year during which the Triwizard Tournament was hosted at Hogwarts, the summer began with the destruction of the American wizarding school, Ilvermorny. Foreign students have flooded into Hogwarts, and are being forced to pick a side, though the Purifiers have been suspiciously quiet.
