How did your character acquire this ability?:

Luca grew up with a great fondness for the outdoors. He could explore the same patch of forest time and time again, and something would always be different. He loved the uncertainty and constant change of the wilderness. Because of this adoration for the world outside his own home, Luca became very interested in camping. As he got older, he loved to go on camping excursions with friends. The woods gave them a place to get away from the trials of everyday life, chill out, and explore. It was during one of these get out and explore trips that Luca's life changed. No, my good friends, he did not have an epiphany about moving to the wilds of Alaska. That would have been far preferable. No, Luca, his muggle friend, and a few others were exploring the great outdoors for the weekend. One night, not being particularly in tune with the phases of the moon, Luca and the muggle buddy decided a moonlit hike would be good for the soul. In their defence, it was a lovely nighttime hike filled with beer and tripping over roots. You know, the things that make a hike really high quality. Until they were interrupted by something, anyway. What was it? Fairies? Mosquitos? A particularly salty gnome? No, you know gosh diggity darn well that it was a werewolf. Run all you want, two legs aren't gonna escape four. Not in the dead of night, and especially not when you've been drinking your weight in fermented yeast. Luca awoke in St. Mungo's later to find that his friend had not survived the attack, along with the knowledge that nighttime hikes were a fairly poor idea. Tragic. Fun while it lasted, though. That's the important part.
