we've got a million miles
ahead of us. all that we need is a RUDE
AWAKENING to know we're good enough.

[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"] It was almost painful to watch the youngling struggle as she was. It had certainly crossed Marisol's mind to just end it all right then and there. Perhaps it would spare her any further pain. Yet, there was still a glimmer of hope that she could reclaim some semblance of life. This girl had to first see that there was an existence beyond the exile she had imposed upon herself. For some reason, Marisol felt some need to show it to the girl. With her hand outstretched, the youngling finally reached out to take it, albeit silently. Her hands were cool to the touch, which was likely yet another reminder of what they had become, but also an indicator that it had been some time since this young one had properly eaten. "Come," was all Marisol said as she began to lead the way.
She had been telling the truth when she said that her home wasn't far. Marisol carefully attempted to envelope the youngling by wrapping her arm around the shoulder. She had no idea if it was something she would resist or shrug off, but Marisol wanted to show her that she wasn't an animal because of what she was going through, but in fact still a person.
As she reached her home, Marisol led the way inside. She waited for Chris to enter before shutting the door behind her. As she began to lead the way, she spoke, hoping that Chris would hear her words. "I know what you're going through," she said. "The hunger... as well as the ache that comes with it. You know exactly what it takes to make it all go away, but it feels like doing so means giving up." Marisol paused a moment as she turned to look at Chris once more. "All you want... is control."
She turned and continued to lead the way to a room. The floor was a hard black marble, and at one end was some sort of cooler. "Wait here," said Marisol. She didn't want the sight or the scent to gnaw at the girl's temptation anymore than it already was. As her footsteps echoed she continued to speak. "I can teach you control. I can show you how to live this particular life. It wouldn't be easy. You would lose some of who you were, but you would learn a great deal about the woman you are now."
She opened the cooler and quickly shut it after grabbing a pair of blood bags from within. "The first step, is quenching the hunger. If you're truly hungry... starving... it's deafening. You can't think, only react. Never allow yourself to fall to such depths." Marisol now stood in front of her, offering her one of the bags of blood. "Second step, don't stand on ceremony. This is the new you. Accept it." She waited for the girl to accept what she was offering, knowing it was among the first steps in a very long journey. One she wouldn't all the girl to begin with a stranger. "My name is Marisol, but you can call me, Mari."
