Jónas had reached out to Midori relatively early to plan their date. He had inquired as to a few weeks out, just to make sure that her schedule was clear (he didn’t want her assistant to hate him) and so that she could find a babysitter for young Perry. And he figured that the best option for the two of them would be a nice little place that he had found during his journeys around the Alley and London when he was going on strolls or trying to keep himself out of his own head for a moment.
It was a cute little place that he had found. A restaurant that wasn’t too expensive (which was good since he was going to insist at least twice that he pick up the tab) that served a variety of comfort foods. He hoped, of course, that Midori would like it. Plus a more relaxed atmosphere would be mean that both could be relaxed and not think about potential issues, like pricing of menu items, or in Jónas’ case, alcohol. It was nice to be able to know that he could make a reservation and they would be able to accommodate without it being too crazy.
Plus, if this was a date between the two friends, he didn’t want it to be somewhere expensive and over the top (he tended to save those for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, as he did like to treat his mother every once in a while, you know, when she let him). So, he had told her that they could meet up there and now he was standing outside this little hole in the wall, small restaurant that he had stumbled across, trying not to seem anxious or fidgety as he waited for her, hoping that this place would be good enough. It wasn’t working fully, but hey, he was trying.
